The Vantage Racing Team community (VRT) is one that originally started with Grand Theft Auto Online (GTAO), focusing on clean races and events. I have previously made track intro graphics for their V2 series with the Formula cars in GTAO. Nowadays this community has shifted to other racing games and simulators, namely F1 23 and Assetto Corsa Competizione. The main founder of VRT contacted me to make a help announce a new crew logo for 2024, by making an animation to promote the drastic shift.
I had the idea of a logo evolution, going from the first version of VRT to the 2024 rebranded version, and showing the progress across four logo designs, concluding with the final. I remade almost all icons in After Effects so I can animate each component independently. After introducing the final version, I made the animation loop-able, which was fun! It was a real challenge keeping up to date with which shape layer means what, but overall I am very proud at the final result. See the animation below!
