Grand Theft Auto Online has many communities, each focused on different parts of the game, be it the heist missions or clean racing. There is also FiveM, a multiplayer mod for singleplayer Grand Theft Auto V, where communities such as 8th Gear exist. This community is starting a racing event called the “Grotti F1 World Championship”. Grotti is the in-game fictional version of Ferrari. As part of this event, I have created graphics for the qualifying round as well as an in-game banner, that can be seen on the racing server itself!
As Grotti is a parody of Ferrari, I wanted to mimic how Ferrari posts about their Formula 1 races. They tend to have a red background with block text explaining the Grand Prix name, track location and dates. I took that and expanded upon it for the Grotti F1 graphics. I changed the colour to a light green as that colour is present in the Grotti badge. From there I added the 8th Gear and Grotti logo at the top, and made the track map itself a 3D shape, which turned out really nice! Lastly, I had changed the text format to:
- TRACK NAME
- TRACK CREATOR — DATES / ROUND
The event is finally over! Below is the final round graphic. This race will be 25 laps long and takes place on BGNZ Barney’s Bumholy created by BagginZHD.
Below is an archive of all the rounds I have designed graphics for!
Alongside promoting the Qualifying round, I also produced graphics for in-game, as shown below!
These posters can be seen in-game, as shown below!
